In 2006 I did the two group shows with The Rider Project, which led to the Fellowship for 18 months at the

A.I.R. Gallery, Chelsea in Manhattan.  I got the working visa, and moved to a loft studio in Brooklyn, flying

back and forth to Toronto.  I got busy right away painting preteens in the two cities, again communities of

strangers whom I came to know through making paintings together.   My first solo show in New York was of

these paintings of two classrooms of children, at PS145m and Forest Hill Public School.  The exhibit at the

National Arts Club was thanks to Marilu Ramirez, organizer of the event about children, and Aldon James,

President of the NAC.  The press can be found on the link above.

In 2004 there was extensive Press for my work on television and in the Toronto Star, the Toronto Globe and Mail, the Toronto Sun, the Los Angeles Times, the Florida Sun Times, La Repubblica in Italy, and it was all associated with the very high profile event making paintings for the Playboy Bunny Reunion at the Stardust in Vegas, so I was thought of as The Woman Who Paints the Women.  In 2005 I was very busy painting Naturists on the beach at Hanlan's Point, and the work in progress was shown at the LTT GPCA Salon, so I began to be thought of as The Woman Who Paints the Men.  Earlier I was known as The Woman Who Paints the Cops, and also as The Woman Who Paints Children.  The Liberty&ManhattanSkyline series featured in the New York Times and lots other press in New York and Toronto focussed on The Woman Who Paints Cityscapes.  Now I've painted 75 Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard personnel -- one of the most fun projects ever. With enough Press, becoming known for painting Artists, Child Musicians, Customs Workers, Computer Bots, Athletes, Great Feminists of the 70's, it'll all become true, to be The Woman Who Paints What She Pleases.    If you follow the links, I've got some of the articles in full online.
