LONDON -
freedom2BRselvesAGAIN: Setting up the making of the paintings involves a lot of paperwork in London as it turns out. Therefore, this show will have to wait until late 2008 to be made and for a suitable venue to be chosen where the children I paint in London can come with their families, along with the usual great crowd for the gallery opening. Soon to follow will be a class of children in the American South, and in Jordan, and Tel Aviv. It is important to me that relationships between all the children at the classes I've painted can get to know each other, corresponding with each other with the parents' permission and the ongoing support of the schools. Penpals who send letters snail mail bulging with artwork and little keepsakes and personal thoughts are very important for
kids, are as important as the fun of meeting up at the show, as meaningful as
making the work itself together. Art is nothing without love.
